Generator Services

SFE’s vast experience in installing, maintaining and repairing emergency backup diesel generators puts us in the unique position to service this equipment mechanically and electrically. Nothing is more frustrating than having an expensive backup diesel generator fail when you most need it. Our mission is to ensure equipment reliability when you need it and as you use it.

Diesel generators must be maintained. Fuel quality must be monitored. Repairs must be done swiftly and with the proper components. Load banking must be done. We got your back 24/7.

The ability and experience of working on a wide range of generator manufactures is critical. SFE has that background with an experienced team to match. Understanding the legacy machines and knowing the nuances of the latest Tier4 emission engines, we got your back.

Staying current on the Tier4 technologies being employed is paramount. We have established means of mitigating common Tier4 problems: Wet Stacking, in-operative EGR valves, clogged EGR coolers etc. We can manage all exhaust side issues through chemical processing or load banking.

Load banking is an essential tool for maintaining the health of a generator. This artificial resistive load is a bit more than just a big hair dryer. Running the generator at near maximum load clears out the exhaust circuit with the higher load temperatures. It proves reliability and capability, establishing confidence when emergency power is needed.

Load banking services are a critical success factor to maintaining the health of a diesel generator. SFE can load bank up to 2 MW at your location.

But equally important is fuel quality. Diesel fuel is susceptible to water incursion, bacterial growth, rust sludge and other negative elements. Any one of these items can foul filters and foul injectors. We examine the condition of your fuel both on site and at a 3rd party lab if necessary. Most issues can be remedied in the field through fuel polishing. Our fuel polishers are capable of handling any tank under 20,000 gallons.

Fuel polishing eliminates water, sludge and bacteria. Fuel treatments with biocides will assist in killing the living organisms in your fuel.
